The Eterna remote control platform is based on the new UE961 Bluetooth LE chipset that’s 80% more efficient.

No More Battery Waste

Thanks to its Xtreme Low Power design, Eterna can work ten times as long on a single pair of AAA batteries, enabling it to last 7 years with a typical usage pattern.

PCR plastics

The encasing of Eterna is manufactured using 95% PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) plastic.

UEI products are designed and built from the ground up with a sustainability Post Consumer Recycled plastics are used to dramatically reduce the use of virgin materials, the CO2 footprint of the remote control is minimized.

Eco packaging

Eterna remote controls are shipped in packaging free from single-use-plastics (SUP-free). The remotes are wrapped in a sheet of biodegradable material. A carton box that holds dozens of them is sealed with paper tape, and a pallet of these carton boxes also uses paper tape instead of materials like nylon tape and shrink-wrap plastic.

Easy disassembly

Eterna is designed for easy disassembly, so when the product is eventually returned, it can be split into separate components for recycling or refurbishment and reuse.

ATV/RDK multi-platform

Eterna is available in versions pre-integrated with Android TV set-top boxes as well as versions pre-integrated with RDK Accelerator.

Ambient light harvesting

The UEI Eterna XLR remote control platform uses ambient light harvesting so that even with power-hungry features such as backlighting, it can operate on a single pair of AAA batteries for years, so the user will never need to worry about replacing them.

HD PV Panel

The UEI Eterna XLR HD features a High-Density PV Panel that with its compact size collects enough energy to keep the remote powered for daily use, even with indoor light.

Ambient-aware Backlight

Thanks to an ambient light sensor, the UEI Eterna XLR can adjust the backlight to the light level in the room, and switch it off during the day to save energy.

RF energy harvesting

To collect more energy in addition to the ambient light harvesting, the UEI Eterna XLR employs RF energy harvesting, converting radio waves from sources such as WiFi networks into energy to power the remote.
